Fat Olives Restaurant Fat Olives is another of those restaurants made infamous by a visit by Guy Fieri. My wife ordered the Belgio Dolce Pizza (one of Guy’s top choices) and an ice tea. I ordered the Chicken Ensalada along with a House Made Italian Soda (Blackberry). The food was fantastic. The manager was very friendly and was very pleased with my post dinner review. The service left a little to be desired. But the waiter was new so I’ll give him a little slack. We had to ask for extra napkins twice and our drinks didn’t manage to be delivered to our table until we were about ½ way finished after we reminded the waiter that he hadn’t brought them to us.. (Waiters/waitresses were responsible for making and delivering the drinks at lunch time. We had tried to have dinner here the previous night but they didn’t take reservations and the wait was 1.5 hours if you wanted to at there. We called ahead at lunch time but could not reach a person. We were led to believe that no seating was available until after 8:00PM that night. We drove there just in case and found there was no waiting. I told the manager and he was shocked by our findings. He was going to look into and fix the problem right away. 10% discount is available to Vets, police, and first responders.
Started with the Wood Fired Stracciatella (House-made mozzarella, sweet cream, ricotta, sea salt. Served with house crostini, EVOO, honey balsamic reduction, cracked pepper $14.5). Didn’t honestly understand all of that menu description, but very glad we went ahead Pizza and dessert calzone rounded out our meal with plenty of pizza to bring home!
We got to Flagstaff kind of late, no reservation and the restaurant was packed. They told us the waiting time would be around 1 hour and we decided to stay… it was maybe 15 minutes and we were already being seated. We had the arugula salad, the parmigiana, ms piggy pizza and the signature lasagna… everything was delicious! At the end we also tried the tiramisu and the marshmallow/ chocolate pizza. We highly recommend and if there is a waiting time, just be sure it is worth the wait.
Incredible food that warms the soul – A must-visit in Flagstaff We came here after a cold sunset at the Grand Canyon, and the food completely warmed our souls. Hands down the best pizza I've eaten in the States. The Highlights: Belgio Dolce: The MVP of the night! It’s an award-winning pizza with a white sauce base, pistachios, and a touch of honey. The flavor profile is incredibly rich and unique. Half & Half Option (Shrimp Fra Diavalo & Ms Piggy): Yes, you can do half and half! It was double the joy without having to choose just one flavor. Fat Olives Salad: We licked the plate clean! The mix of balsamic, pecans, currants, and cranberries was sweet, tangy, and super refreshing. I’m so sad we are only visiting the Grand Canyon for two days and don't live in Flagstaff. We will definitely be back for this pizza next time!
This was easily some of the best pizza I've ever had. Everything was extremely well balanced. I'm glad I tried the carnivore and the pepperoni, because the pepperoni allowed me to have a balance of cheese, sauce, crust, and toppings. The carnivore gave me all of that, but it also had more toppings which kind of overshadowed the cheese and sauce; but the bacon and sausage provided additional flavors that made the slice more enjoyable. The meals are also fairly priced. It's comparable to, if not better than, Phoenix prices. The only downside of going here is the wait times. It seems that no matter what time you go, the wait will be 15 minutes to an hour long. I'll likely be returning when I venture up north again. Fat Olives has earned 5 stars from me.
Celebrating a late birthday linner... heard so many amazing things about this place and saw on Check Please and DDD with Guy Fieri. We started with the Stracciatella and meatballs both were delicious Up next is the marmalade pizza excellent recommendation all the flavors paired perfectly! Definitely worth the drive and wait! Make reservations as we got right in!
I’m gluten free preference and have been for years. Our server told us to try the 00 flour they use on all their pizzas to try and save some money as she’s has others who are gluten sensitive eat and had no issues. So glad we did because I had no issues. 10/10 recommended! We got the Mrs. Piggy and Marmalade pizza, and the fat olives and arugula salads as appetizers, absolutely amazing. We also had the flourless chocolate cake. I can’t wait to come back to flagstaff to eat here again. Worth the trip alone from Duluth.
10/10!!! Everything was SO fresh and delicious! We started with a blackberry Italian soda and some oven roasted olives, both items were super yummy! We also got the margarita pizza and it was amazing!! Just like being in Naples! I’ve never had such authentic pizza before! We finished off with the creme brûlée cheesecake which was tasty, but lacking the brûlée crunch I was expecting.
